Chinese Deputy Prime Minister for Malaysia?

It had been wide-spread that PM,Abdullah had unofficially offered the position of 2nd Deputy Prime Minister to MCA's President,Ong Ka Ting,IF BN manage to maintain it's 2/3 majority seats in Parliament in the coming election.

I'm not sure that is this a rumour or true fact, but indeed this is another no-choice-left strategy, hoping to gain back some support from the deteriorating Chinese support on the Abdullah administration.

It's a fact nowadays that, there's alot of disatisfactory among the Chinese community to the Abdullah administration and the BN rulling coallition. From the pig farmers issue,to the Kerismuddin incident, till the unfair policies in the nation, there's too much negative issues widely spreaded and felt by the Chinese community.

There's even speculation that MCA and GERAKAN would lost half of it's contested seats in the coming General Election. And some UMNO seats might as well fall to the oppositions as the minority Chinese votes had become the key vote to win,due to the diverged Malay votes.

Ka Ting as the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister? Is this the "secret weapon" and also a final option that the Abdullah administration would use to gain back Chinese support in the next General Election?

But I would be more interested to see how the Malay community,Malay-based political party and other BN component party response.

Where's the cop?

During Christmas eve,I was been told, there were some chaos around Penang's Gurney Drive as crowds gathered to celebrate Christmas.

I was there last year, although some cars or vehicles and crowds were sprayed by artificial snow in can,but overall it's still considered a happy and joyful celebration.I was kinda pleased at that time, because the year before that,I witnessed how the Christmas celebration in KL's Bkt Bintang area turned wild and chaotic till the FRU came into action.

But things turned nasty this year,as police were attacked and jeered by the crowds. The crowds gone chaotic and threw cans towards the police and police car, even the police car's windows were broken.Things had gone too far beyond a self-controlled,peaceful and joyful gathering.

Look it yourself, this were what happened during the night of Christmas eve.

But where's the FRU or police reinforcements? Why the law and order were not restored by the police on that night?

Since the police can have "Operasi Parliment" and treat the HINDRAF rally in a harsh way,by using some force on it. Why not here?

These bunch of people are different from HINDRAF or BERSIH,they have no objectives and responsibilities for the rakyat, they are not doing something good for the nation and rakyat, but only causing problems. These are a bunch of people that really caused chaos and jeopardize the society in the manner of road safety and public safety. These are a bunch of people that the police should have take action. These are a bunch of people that should be dispersed or arrested by the police.

Where's the police, when we need them the most?

Angkasawan on Milo?

While I was cleaning up some mess in my office's kitchen,I suddenly discovered something...

Do you think this guy..I mean the blue shirt guy...on the Milo can look familiar?

Now,look closer

Look even closer...

OK...now see this...

...and this...

He's the currently most famous guy in town,Dr Sheikh Muzzafar,Malaysia's first astronaut/cosmonaut/flight participant..ahh..Angkasawan.The only guy that his popularity can compete with Mawi nowadays.

I just knew that our Angkasawan had been on the Milo can before he went up to space. Before this,I only knew he is a part-time model, but I didn't knew he posed for Milo before.

Our angkasawan is really a great talent,he is a doctor,a part-time model and an Angkasawan for now (maybe a celebrity in future?!),3 in 1.Geez,many people can be a doctor and part-time model at the same time, but how many(even none) would be an Angkasawan at the same time?

Reflections on Singapore's New Strait Times

For the first time,Reflections had it's views published on Singapore's major English newspaper, the New Strait Times.

It's a news coverage regarding on the recent HINDRAF rally in KL.If you missed out the news or not sure whats happening, look HERE,HERE and HERE.

This was adopted from my previous blog tittled "Hindraf's rally harsh suppresion" .

My name was on it,but I don't know it's a good thing or bad thing yet.But at least, this is the way that we get our views spread out to the outside world and international community.

Many thanks to my friend,Pei Qi who let me know about this. Thanks again!

Abdullah Administration in horror, creating Malaysia into heaven...

The Abdullah administration is in a great horror nowadays. He was scared for failing to turn Malaysia into a heaven.

As we had thought,Pak Lah and his government would try to create a nice atmosphere and good condition to set up a "good-factor" for the coming general election.Roads had been repaired, street lamps had been installed,KLSE is knocking the highest point, these all are "good-factors".So,many of us thought that Pak Lah would try his best to accomodate and satisfy some situation going on earlier in this country.

But,things turned out to be different now.

Pak Lah seemed to turn his steering 180 degree to another side.He don't care about the "good-factor" or nice atmosphere for election anymore. What he is doing now,is to set up a "massive-sweep" across the nation,to sweep out those "bad-factors" such as the HINDRAF and BERSIH thingy and those who oppose him and the BN government.

5 HINDRAF leaders were detained under ISA(Internal Security Act) yesterday for two years,as IGP Tan Sri Musa had said. And the funniest thing is these leaders were detained under the reason of jeopardizing the public security.Well, they are not terrorist nor Al-Qaeda,I don't see this is a strong reason to detain them, and I would likely to call this a political detention.Well,as far as I concern, these leaders are still undergoing a few charges in the court. Why must ISA being used? Why can't they being charged and judged fairly in the courts?

And days before, there's been a massive sweep across the nation as we see dozens of BERSIH rally organizers being arrested including Tian Chua,Mohamad Sabu and so on.And more earlier, for the first time in the history of Malaysia,we see protestors who were arrested atteding an illegal assembly being charged for attempt to murder.

And just on yesterday night,we see the police and FRU clamp-down the Klang Hokkien Assosiation Building. There's supposed to be a ceramah old by PKR in Klang Hokkien Assosiation Building last night, but the police had acted to clamp-down and blocked the way into the venue, causing the ceramah to turn into outdoor and rally-form.But,still around 4000 people turned up for the ceramah.

What is all these going on? The Abdullah administration is using strong ways and harsh surpression to solve its own problems. From here,we can see a clear point that the Abdullah administration is in horror and in great fear of something, they wanted to "erase" these "bad-elements" out of their way.

Still remember Pak Lah's angry face on the last day of UMNO assembly? "Saya pantang dicabar!"

So,now what? OK,fine. When Pak Lah get all the so-called "trouble-makers" into ISA and jail, and get done with his "massive-sweep" to sweep those who oppose or against him,the country will be peaceful and prosper as he thought.

No people will be discriminated. No one need to be responsible. No one will be embarrased. No one will be in a horror. No one will dicabar. No one will care about clean and free election. No one will care about the ethnic Indians. No one will care about the law. No one will care about the rakyat's rights.

All will just be peaceful and quiet..hmm...

Ahh..Malaysia..what a heaven place to live in...

Blackest day ever in Parliament

Today marks the blackest day ever in the Parliament.

What do we learn in Pengajian Am or Pengajian Malaysia while we're in For 6 or IPT? We learn about Parliament is a symbol of democracy, and it is a symbol of sanctity as the highest place for legislative and the voice of rakyat being heard.

But today, over 20 people were arrested, some even were arrested inside the parliament area.Parti Keadilan's Information Chief Tian Chua was arrested infront of Parliament,in a road block by police.Syafiq Sunny has some photos.

This was how Tian Chua was arrested.

While some others arrested included PAS leader,Mustapha Ali and Dr. Hatta Ramli,Suaram executive director,Yap Swee Seng,Writers Alliance for Media Independence chairperson Wong Chin Huat and Centre for Independent Journalism executive director V.Gayathry and etc. They were arrested in the Parliament after handing over the memorandum to the opposition leaders. And I was greatly in shock after knowing that the arrest had been made in the Parliament compound,it was a huge abuse and contempt to the Parliament.

Video clip coverage by Malaysiakini on Youtube

These people did not come with parangs, keris or guns. They came with a memorandum,a memorandum for a cleaner election and a better Malaysia. But at the end, they were arrested.Did you see violence? No. Did you see a massive illegal assembly around? No. And yet, they were still arrested.

Well...don't cry for me,Malaysia, the truth is - These happen in Malaysia, not Pakistan or Myanmar.

50 years of nationhood, all these happened in the 50 years old Parliament.

Screenshots blogger Jeff Ooi investigated

Today is the UN International Human Rights Day,but a few lawyers and activists were arrested yesterday,a black Sunday. And in 2pm just now,.Jeff Ooi,the blogger for Screenshots were summoned to Bukit Aman to be investigated by Commercial Crime Investigation Department(CCID) on several reports lodged against him.

Jeff Ooi with his lawyers.Photo by Tony Yew.

Some of the sides that lodged the police report were Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (KIMMA),Malaysian Islamic Consumers Association (PPIM),and Pertubuhan Seni Silat Ikatan Kalam Malaysia. The reports were lodged against Jeff Ooi a few days after the BERSIH rally, and mostly regarding about the statement Jeff had issued to Al-Jazeera.

But what amused me,is PPIM.PPIM should be an organization that concerned about Muslim consumers and protect the consumers' rights,so as Pertubuhan Seni Silat Ikatan Kalam Malaysia that should have relate itself to some culture or silat thing. But now they turn out involving themself in politics and even lodged a police report against someone who is not related to their field of interest.I can smell something "fishy" behind this.

Anyway,Jeff was fine.He safely walked out from Bukit Aman this evening.By the way,9 people including 5 lawyers and 4 activists arrested yesterday was bailed out this morning, and waiting turns to be charged in court.

I bet this is just a beginning of the government agenda to threaten and "clear out" bloggers that speak out the truth and facts.

A day before UN International Human Rights Day..."Oops,you are under arrest!"

While I was having a dialogue with the BAR secretary Mr Lim Chee Wee this morning,I was being informed by Mr Lim that 7 people were arrested in this morning's Human Rights Day activities in KL.(I found out it was 9 till the end of day)

Some hundreds of people go on with the walk from Sogo to Central Market this morning, although the walk scheduled as the People's Freedom Walk had been called off earlier. But,they were blocked by the police with an outnumbered situation while the unofficial walk is going on,,and with no choice left the unofficial walk had to be cancelled.

I was told that the police earlier had granted the crowd a permission to walk for 10 minutes, but then the police didn't keep to their words and do what they had promised, but blocked the crowd and warned the crowd to disperse.

In the meantime they were dispersing upon the police orders,8 were arrested, they were the Bar Council Human Rights Committee deputy chairman Amir Hamzah Arshad,N.Surendren, senior counsel R.Sivarasa and his colleague,Latheefa Koya, while among the NGO personnel arrested were Eric Paulsen,Anthony Andu and Noor Aza Othman.Frankly,I'm totally so shock about the arrest made, things must have gone very wrong if they even arrest lawyers...

The guy in black shirt negotiating with the DBKL officer is Edmund Bon.Photo by BAR council

And in noon,as the event was going on in the indoor inside the BAR Council building,Bar Council Human Rughts Committee chairman,Edmond Bon was arrested by police for obstructing the DBKL officers from pursuing their duties.Edmund was arrested when he was trying to stop the DBKL officers to take down the banners from the Bar council building. However, please bear in mind that the DBKL officers this noon were carrying their duties without warrant.

And the worst part is,those who were arrested even were not permitted by the police to meet their lawyers. The BAR council chairwoman expressed her disappointment on the police.

Watch and listen carefully...

In today as well,14 persons that were related to the BERSIH rally were arrested today, all over the nation.PAS vice president Mohamad Sabu was arrested during his daughter's wedding in Ipoh,PKR Information Chief Tian Chua was arrested in a Suaram function in Johor Baru, and the others were mostly the rally's Amal team members that guarded the rally.

Malaysian government and police, again gave a big punch to the country and its people just before the UN International Human Rights Day by making so many arrest. And some of it,were even unlawful and not reasonable arrest.

While we are celebrating the International Human Rights Day,maybe the guys in Putrajaya and Bukit Aman would ask,"Human rights? What human rights?I just know you are not RIGHT!"

And again,lagi-lagi,this is democracy Malaysian-style...

Before I forget,by the time I blogged this, none of them were released. Please update me if tehre is any information.Thanks...

Meaning of true friends...

Yesterday,I encountered one of the worst things ever for year 2007.

Something bad happened yesterday, and it was my fault and careless-ness that caused it.And for the whole day I feel so bad and unhappy.

But,despite my gloomy mood and bad feeling. No one contacted me and ask what happened or care about me.

Sometimes,it doesn't mean that I want evryone to care for me 24/7 or all the time. But in some circumstances,a word of "How do you feel?" or "Are you OK?" really makes me feel comfortable.

In some situation, you will mostly hope people or friends around you to care about you.But eventually not everyone will do so.

There's alot of friends that share your joy and play around with you. But,not much will share your sorrow or walk through your hard times with you together.

It's a bad (worst) day....

As the end of 2007 draws near, good things are just too far for me.And being worst than ever.

Today is one of my worst day for year 2007...totally,ran out of luck and being so "suey".

But at least,I learnt a lesson which might caused me a real high cost - "There's no shortcut for success, but only way to success."

Now,from today onwards,I think I'll just have to work harder to gain success.

The walk is off,but the spirit lives on...

Well, regarding to the People's Freedom Walk which scheduled to be held on this Sunday morning by Bar council had been cancelled.

Although no clear reasons had been stated out.But I doubted that the walk had been call abort due to the possibilities to be "hijacked" by BERSIH or Hindraf protestors. As days before,BERSIH and Hindraf were calling for a massive assembly during the People's Freedom Walk. The Bar council wouldn't like to see the purpose and objective of the walk to be "hijacked" or "altered".

But one thing for sure, although the walk is cancelled, but the music performance which is scheduled at around 9 am in the Central market will go on as usual. So,do drop by if you guys are free.

Although the walk is called off,but the spirit for human rights and freedom still lives on.

Walk with us - Bar Council's People's Freedom Walk

In conjuction with the United Nation's World Human Rights Day on December 10,the Malaysian Bar Council is going to organize the People's Freedom Walk on December 9.The walk will start from KL Sogo Complex, and proceed through the Merdeka Square and ends on the Central Market. The walk will starts at 7am in the morning, all are welcome. For more info, you can click HERE

This is not just a normal walk, its a celebration and a reminder to the government to respect human rights. After the walk, they'll be some performance by artists in the Central Market. And more important is,this walk is above politcs, above races, above religions and above barriers. This is a walk for Malaysians' rights.

I hope the police and FRU won't mess up the things AGAIN.If the police are using force and violence against the walk on Sunday, does this means the police and even the government are against the human rights,as well?

So,think twice,Pak Lah and Tan Sri Musa.By the way, negotiation between the Bar and the police on the walk are still on the way.

Before I wrap up my first blog entry for December,I'm glad to share a short music video clip with all my readers.

Our rights,given by God.
Stand with us,and walk with us.
